Dr. Kathleen Bowman is delighted to be joining the team at Leaside. She grew up in Toronto and has been set on becoming a vet ever since her father read her James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small. After receiving her IB diploma from The York School, she completed her undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax and ventured further east still for vet school at University College Dublin in Ireland. After graduating in 2022, Kathleen worked at a small animal practice in the Dublin mountains where she saw cats, dogs, and the occasional bird.
During her time in high school and university, Kathleen volunteered at a handful of practices both in Ontario and the British Isles. Growing up, she had an orange tabby named Cooper. Her current pet is a very friendly lab shepherd mix named Piper.
Kathleen has a particular fondness for large, silly dogs, classical music, horseback riding, cycling, and Taylor Swift. Clinically, her special interests include gastroenterology and fear-free medicine. In her spare time, she can be found playing the piano at her grandmother’s retirement home. She is also an avid reader, with a love (though no particular skill) for kickboxing and chess.
